Am I right

Posted in: , on 4. Mar. 2006 - 17:52

Dear Jack,

If more power, choose screener.

If more streamer or angle hair, choose deduster.

Screener is not efficient for angle hair and streamer.

Am I right?

Thanks

Removing Streamers, Angel Hair And Fines

Erstellt am 4. Mar. 2006 - 05:15

Screens will plug up easily with angel hair. If you have angel hair, do not use screens.

For angel hair and fines, use elutriators or Pelletron's Deduster, although I prefer a well-designed elutriator because of its higher efficiency and ability to handle very short streamers. Pelletron's Deduster is a good device but in my experience its efficiency is a function of capacity, at higher capacities its efficiency reduces. But the elutriators are available from many vendors. A well designed elutriator can reduce fines in the product to 50 ppm or less.

The best way to eliminate streamers is to use internally- roughened pipelines. Generation of long streamers must be avoided.

Thank you Amrit, Your answer will give me a good sleeping tonight.

But it comes money issue.

Screener is obsolutly cheaper. Even if it is not good for streamer it is attractive.

Can I use sifter screener and ask operator to clean them periodically?

Say for 30 T/H with 120 M PE conveying line, with internally-roughened(shot-peened) pipe. How frequently should I clean the screener?

Thanks

Problems With Waste In Polymer Production

Erstellt am 15. Dec. 2006 - 12:41

VALITEC SAS has worked successfully since 1993 for improving the quality of polyethylene production in Belgium (ExxonMobil: APP and MPP plants) and in France (POLIMERI EUROPA Mardyck Plant). The main concern was due to the generation of sticky lumps of waste due to aggregation of angel hair (or streamers) and fines. These lumps were choking the sieves and downgrading the behaviour of elutriators, which resulted in returns by the clients of a large proportion of batches, in frequent production stoppages for compressed air cleaning of the facility, a constraining task for the operators, and in pollution of the plant ground by waste; It was shown that waste lumps are produced by the opposed polarity of the static charging of steamers (or angel hair) and fines. The solution (ATEX qualified) is to eliminate this charging by injection of a neutral ionic plasma, as described in our site http://www.valitec.eu. Note that this solution is valid even if the transport duct has suffered erosion. The success of this method has received testimonies as shown by our DVD. can anyone give me good example of elutriators or Pelletron's Deduster for removing angel hair? Any suggested suppliers who can do this?

your reply is appreciated.

Pelletron's Deduster

Erstellt am 23. Dec. 2007 - 01:22

Shenjie,

I read all the questions concerning angel hair and streamers. There is a very simple method to remove streamers or angle hair completely by using a Pelletron DeDuster. The deduster removes angle hair and streamers completely, as well as dust and other contaminants. Please visit the Pelletron web page
