Free Flow Of Pp Powder

Posted in: , on 12. Mar. 2005 - 14:34

hello everybody N a very good evening from my place !!!!!!!!!!!11

.

Respected experts , here is a question regarding free flow of pp powder .

actually i am doing a project on increasing the thru put of extrusion section , so after silos the powder and the additives are weighed separatively in different auto feeders and then mixed in screw feeders before being fed to extruder.

i am not getting any idea to increase the capacity of auto feeders, so i am thinking in terms of adding a different line directly from the silo to the screw feeder feeding the extruder.

the diastance wud be approx 10-15 meters but i feel a lot of bends wud have to b added.

So anybody of u , cud plz guide me whether such thing is posible or not , if yes , what r the limitations ?

Wud it not create a problem interms of impact or mixing in the screw feeder, bcoz it will take some velocity.

guide me a little.

Dear Mr Nitesh Seth,

you can use pneumatic conveying if there are too many bends involved.

Secondly, do you want to weigh this material or directly want to feed the material to the extruder.

I think it is the site condition that will govern what can be done., so can you provide with the plant layout and other details.

Hello nitin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually i don't want to weigh this powder and directly want to dump it to the screw feeder.

The plant lay out , i will attach in the mail.

From SILO, it goes to SCREW FEEDER Then to HOOPER, then to AUTO FEEDERand fom here this line along with another line of additives , mixed in the screw conveyor and fed to the EXTRUDER.

GUIDE ME IF I CAN WITH A ROTARY FEEDER , DIRECTLY DUMP THE MATERIAL TO SCREW FEEDER< FEEDing EXTRUDER.

WHAT SHUD B THE SHAPE AND SIZE oF THE PIPELINE????????/

HOW TO CONFIRM IT WILL NOT MAKE AN UNACCEPTABLE JURK TO SCREW FEEDER.

BYE

I will attach the file of lay out,in next mail soon.

the lay out of the plant is attached here with.

Firstly there is Screw feeder SC601, then Hopper H601, then Auto feeder PK601 then in WM 602 that is a screw feeder and from here goes to the extruder.

In Wm602 there mixes Additives from PK602.

I hope u can understand now the layout of the plant.

Reply me soon.

bye

It seems to me that the distance is short and the rates would be low - I would look at air-slide and flowveyor options...a pipeline pneumatic conveying system would be an overkill (and could cause dust problems at extruder - if not designed properly).

HELLO MR. PWYPYCH,

CUD YOU PLZ ELABORATE oN THE TERMS AIR SLIDE AND FLOWVEYOR OPTIONS??

WHAT ARE THEY AND WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGESAND DISADVANTAGES FOR THESE?

HoW CAN THEY BE IMPLEMENTED ??

Thanking You

The Floveyor is a disc and rope conveyor...

The airslide is a special pneumatic conveyor driven by a fan (and using a porous membrane)...

Final section will depend on product properties, transport route, rates, etc...you can contact each supplier (or similar) and ask them to recommend something for you. Regards,

Dear Nitesh,

The air slide though a easy option may not be feasible with too many bends around. It is your layout and available room that will govern what equipment would be more suited.

Should you require any support for either airslides or pneumatic conveying please contact the undersigned.
