NOVA WEIGH’S ATEX APPROVED DRUM FILLING SYSTEM SPEEDS UP DISTRIBUTION
Simon Storage Ltd (SSL), the leading UK independent operator of bulk, liquid and gas in Britain and Ireland, has upgraded its County Limerick facility with the addition of a Nova Weigh drum filling system.
The new installation ensures that customers get consistent and precise product weights. It also improves throughput and operator convenience.
SSL looked at several solutions and finally chose Nova Weigh’s ATEX certified ‘Snake-Arm’ filling head. This incorporates a fully adjustable filling head and lance suitable for top or bottom filling of wide range of containers from 25kg capacity, right through to 1,000kg IBCs. The design ensures safe and convenient operation without operator fatigue.
Accurate weighing is guaranteed by a Nova Weigh Model NWLP platform scale. This was built in 316 stainless steel throughout to ensure a long and reliable operating life. The combination of the Model NWLP scale and Nova Weigh’s ATEX certified Model ST-Ex Digital Weight Indicator provides a legal-for-trade ‘multi-interval’ solution. The big benefit of multi-interval weighing is that it delivers enhanced accuracy when filling the small 25kg containers even with multiple containers on a single pallet. This ability to meet the legal filling requirements for a range of sizes with a single system saves both cost and space.
The ST-EX has advanced control software with predictive filling to maximise throughput and the ability to store filling parameters for up to 99 different products or container sizes.
