Biography:

Involved in lime, limestone and production of other chemical products for over 65 years.

Employed by Australian Newsprint Mills Ltd at Boyer Tasmania for 15 years in Technical Control and as Asst Supt of the Auxiliary Products division including ChlorineCaustic Soda, Zinc Hydrosulphite, Lime Calcining and Bleach Liquor manufacturing plants.

Tasmanian Manager of David Mitchell Limited (DML) for 30 years until October 2000 as the foundation Manager of the Mole Creek Tasmania lime production facility.

Established Aus ITech Services as a contract consulting business in late year 2000.

In addition to State Manager duties worked as Manufacturing Projects Manager for the DML group and provided Technical Assistance to lime producers and mining and manufacturing companies from Oman in the Middle East through Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, all States and Territories of Australia and in New Caledonia and New Zealand. Worked on all of the DML 11 lime plants and 17 limestone operations around Australia and also the refractory Firebrick producing company, Darley Refractories Pty Ltd.

Involved in design, construction, commissioning, audit reports or operator training for the lime kilns, hydration plants and milk of lime production on Bougainville, Porgera and at Ok Tedi - PNG. Dibble (Now Macdonald’s) Lime in N.Z., PT Freeport Indonesia, Elsey Lime at Mataranka, several DML new and upgraded lime plants, Causmag International Magnesite - calcining, Index Mineral Processors - silica flour processing, Loongana Lime W.A. Design and Commissioning of the Vale New Caledonia Goro Nickel Lime Plant and limestone sourcing from the southern Philippines.

During 2002 - 2003 provided continuous technical assistance to Bechtel Technip Hatch (BTH) and Beca Simons of NZ for the design and specification of a 500tpd state of the art lime plant for the Goro Nickel project in New Caledonia for Inco Ltd of Canada.

Organised and involved in a number of lime plant operator training programs including the Freeport Indonesia 400 TPD rotary kiln lime plant, Ok Tedi Mining Ltd, Bougainville Limestone Mining and Porgera Mining JV in PNG, and Loongana Lime in WA.
