Pellets Conveying - Abrasion pipe

Posted in: , on 9. Aug. 2006 - 08:13

Do any one know any suplier to nickel coating for pipes/bends ?We are facing problem with leaking conveying pipes in our plant.

We are compounding polyamide with up to 50 % glass and the final product conveying ( dilute phase ) is eating away our pipes ( the bends )frequently. We are running up to 3 mt ( 84mm pipe )and had tried with ceramic coating and nickel coating bends. Nickel coating is working well , but we are knowing only one source from Germany who are supplying us and it takes 5-6months to get a order send to us.

Using of pellbow is not much helps as some left over during uncolour material run ( long run ) is resulting to colour degrading.

If there are other supplier around ( esspecially near Asia ) will be helpful.Thanks.

It is possible to have a full ceramic bend, tee piece, angle piece if you can give us the pipe dimensions, angles and any other details. We can give you pipes which will last 2/3 times longer

than nickel coated.

Have you tried to source glass lined pipe from Singapore or Korea? Its pretty standard stuff, harder then nylon & hard as.... glass.

Hi Ismail,

We can offer you pre engineered alumina (90%+) lined ceramic pipes and bends for this application. These are solid ceramics pre engineered to suit profiles of the pipe and will outlast nickel coating. We can offer you as complete fabricated and tiled, with flanges ready to instal.

Please email us your drawings at usk@cumi.com.au, if this is of interest.

Best regards

Hi Ismail,

we know this problem very well. A coating is only a short term solution. We supplied already a lot of mineral or ceramic lined pipes and bends for such an application with big success. We can offer you such lined bends and pipes with a very long lifetime within a short period.

For further information, please contact us and we will come back to you, if requested with a visit within the next few days.
