The modification may cause various consequences including: damage, and/or unable to start.
I speculate that the tail end motor's start is intentionally delayed.
I propose that suitably experienced personnel etc are requested to review etc.
The following paper is a very brief general discussion:

Change in Starting Sequqnce of Electric Motor
Dear Team,
i would like to ask, if we change the staring sequence of electric motor, what could be the consequences
Conveyor Data
Length - 2231 m
Lift - 5 m
Material - Iron Ore (2200 kg/m3)
Belt - ST 2500, 15 mm top / 10 mm btm
Drive - 4 x 710 kw (3 at Head & 1 at Tail)
Capacity - 8000 TPH.
Current Status of Motor Starting - M1 & M2 (Head) - 1st start then delay of 6 sec then M3 stats (Head) and last M4 (Tail) Starts after delay of 9 sec.
if we change the sequance from M1 - M2 - M3-M4 to M1-M2-M4-M3, what could be consequence. Please guide.
