New Eddy Current Separator

RevX – The New Eddy Current Separator

Eriez’ European range of Eddy Current Separators has been further enhanced with the launch of the all-new RevX model. The RevX Separator is the result of a specific design programme aimed at improving the level of separation and increasing metal recovery.

Like all Eddy Current Separators, the new RevX Separator has a strong magnetic rotor that revolves at high speeds inside a non-magnetic shell. A conveyor belt transports material into the revolving field, where eddy currents are generated in the non-ferrous metals causing the particle to repel away

from the rotating magnetic field. It is important to note that the rotation speed of the magnetic rotor is not the key indicator of the separation

performance and can be misleading. The separation performance is a function of the magnetic rotor configuration, field depth, rotation direction and

the rotation speed. The shape and size also has a major effect on how a non-ferrous metal particle reacts in the magnetic field.

The magnetic rotors of the RevX, designed using finite element analysis, are intended to suit materials with specific particle size ranges. The RevX Model

NM-L is for larger particles, over 25mm in size; whereas the NM-S enables superior separation of problematic smaller particles. These options provide

recyclers with equipment to meet their particular separation needs.

The RevX is available in feed widths up to 2000mm with 1500mm between the pulleys of the conveyor. The structure is compact and ideally suited for

plants where space is at a premium. The framework is heavy duty and designed for easy maintenance with easily removable covers. A front nose section and splitter, adjustable and configured for the size of the material, can be supplied if required.

The RevX Separator joins the highly successful LC Model in the Eriez range of Eddy Current Separators and can be incorporated in a package of equipment to separate both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Other

equipment may include Vibratory Feeders, Overband Magnets and Magnetic Drums, which are mounted on a single common frame incorporating chutework and a sequenced control.

The RevX is launched at the same time as the all new ProSort Separator. The combination of the RevX and ProSort Separators will maximise metal recovery in any recycling plant.
