Chute Wear
Irfan-If you can use old scrap conveyor belt cut it to size for your chute to line your chute, it will save work time and expense. all you need to do is bolt it in place. ■
Wear Resistant Sheeting
Irfan,
While used belt is a cheap way to temporarily solve the problem, I would not expect it to even last you as long as the rubber you are currently using.
Depending on the tempurature involved, you may want to think about Urethane sheeting. It is ultra-resistant to abrasion, and can be easily cut to fit any application such as yours. If you would like to talk in more detail please feel free to contact me.

Your Inquiry
Irfan,
Can you advise temperature of this application? We are a manufacturer of abrasion resistant rubber. We formulate all of our own rubber and rubber ceramic compounds, specific to each application. I suspect you are using a sheet rubber as opposed to an abrasion resistant rubber. If you could provide some addtional information, I'm certain we could be of assistance to you.

Re: Frequent Wearing Of Rubber Lining Of Chute
Dear mister Irfan,
Fertilizer plants show lots of wear problems, which we generaly solv with ceramic linings. Those ceramics offer 2 advantages:
- very high wear resistance
- resistant to the chemical and corrosiv attack of fertilizers.
Please, send us a drawing of the part so we can look at the best ceramic lining to offer.
Please, send us more details about the partical size, the throughput, temperature, design of the equipement, ...
Kindest regards,

Re: Frequent Wearing Of Rubber Lining Of Chute
Dear Mr. Irfan,
Generally, rubber is a preferred material where impact is an issue. Apparently, your application is primarily one of sliding. As such, the use of ceramic, steel, or plastic liners would be more appropriate.
Since you have indicated that the material is hot, plastic (UHMWpe or polyurethane) liners may not be appropriate. Urethane can withstand higher temperatures, as indicated by Mr. Buzio.

Frequent wearing of rubber lining of CHUTE
At our DAP fertilizer plant there is a triangular verticle chute to transfer material from Granulator to Dryer . Due to nature of material chute is lined with rubber.
We are experiencing very rapid wearing of rubber material. Presently we are using high temparature 500/3 ply rubber. We have to replace the rubber after 15 days.
If any body have some relevant experience to resolve this problem. ■
