Our company is preparing the technical specifications for a new rail-mounted bucket wheel stacker/reclaimer.

Its main technical data are listed as follow:

Material to be handled: iron ore (about 30 kinds)

Productivity: 4200t/h

Boom: 55m

Rail gauge: 9m

Stacking height: 10m (above rail top) 2m (below rail top)

maxium wheel load: about 250Kn

About the undercarriage (traveling support system), we have two schemes: the first scheme is three-point and three support legs, that is one support leg on one rail, the other two on the other rail. The second scheme is three-point and four support legs, that means the third support leg has twin bogie assembly on both rails.

Please give me some advise on selection of the two scheme.

U/C Of Stacker Cum Reclaimer

Erstellt am 19. Jan. 2004 - 12:22

Dear Mr. Zhong

Quite interesting. The answer depends on the location of a yard conveyor w.r.t. the rail track. If for any reason, yard conv is off-centre, you will have to have U/C with three support. If this is not a constrain, four point support is the best solution.

Please contact u/s for additional info, if any.

Best Regards

Dear Sir,

We opine a 3 point support for better stability of the machine. This is true if the yard conveyor is off centre or in centre.
