Mining Engineer and Geologist with forty-five years’ experience in precious- and base metals, coal and related industrial minerals. Professional Engineering licenses in three states, with unique multi-disciplinary domestic and international accomplishments. Advanced technical and strong supervisory skills in surface and underground settings.

Construction Management
Design, permitting, procurement, contract preparation, letting, and supervision. Direct andor contractual supervision of up to 100 personnel in drilling, surface, and underground construction projects including earth and rockfill dams, leach pads, powerlines, process, office and dry structures. Direct responsibilities have exceeded $9 M per year, within budget and schedule.

Project Management
Manual and digital preparation of schedules, resources and costs. Durations have ranged from hours for main fan replacements to multi-year for conversion of tails storage from centerline earthfill to upstream rockfill construction methods.

Environment
Permitting has included air and water quality, covering highway, leach pad, dam construction and mine waste and reclamation. It has included backfill, shotcrete, and aggregate manufacturing facilities. Active and spent reagent, fuel and lubricant handling systems have been designed, permitted, constructed and operated, along with chain of custody tracking. Expert Witness in successful pre-trial resolution of water quality matter. Concurrent and closure reclamation, including capping and remediation.

Hydrological Engineering
Surface and groundwater engineering for production, dewatering, grouting, monitoring, and water table restoration. These projects have been for surface and underground operations, ranging from local construction to regional aquifer issues.

Surface MineGeologicalGeotechnical Engineering
Achievements include design and construction of open pits, quarries, tails, earthfill and rockfill dams, waste dumps, leach pads and highways. Directed repair of tails and earthen slopes, along with telemetric and piezometric monitoring of all slope types. Liner design and construction has included earthen, synthetic and geosynthetic membranes. Foundation engineering has ranged from service roads to headframes and main fans. Engineering and supervision of aggregate and clay manufacture, along with construction materials testing, has been part of both my underground and surface experience.

Underground MineGeologicalGeotechnical Engineering
Achievements include ground characterization, caveline and draw control engineering, with mining and infrastructure support design, construction and deformation monitoring, along with method selection and mine evaluation. Design, construction, operation and maintenance of backfill and shotcrete systems, dust suppression and collection, water, compressed air and fuel delivery systems. Extensive experience with dry and wet bulk material storage and handling, including impact and wear surfaces under dynamic transfer. Maintenance engineering experience has extended to the full suite of hoists, ropes, skips, cages, fans, pumps, crushers and conveyors.
