Dear boaty,

Outlet to be a chisel style.

Why ?

Pneumatic convey to fill 4".

Depending on airflow from bulk truck.

Example: 6” pipe with an airflow of 13.5 m3/min at 1.5 bar

4" is small, reducing the unloading capacity too much.

Overfill protection unit with alarm.

Yes.

Rotary valve discharge.

Possible

Or screw discharge.

Slide gate flow control.

Possible

Low level indicator.

Possible

Fluidisation.

Yes

In addition:

-Over- and under-pressure safety valve on top of silo

-Self-cleaning dedusting filter of sufficient size in relation to bulk truck airflow.

-Manual shut-off valve directly under the cone.

-Shut off butterfly valve, pneumatically operated in case of full silo or filter failure, in the conveying pipe line.

-High level probe

-High/high level probe

-Audible and visual alarm indicator

-Control button for bulk truck operator

-Safety switches

-Lighting

-Platforms, stairways

-Work air supply

-Electric power supply

-PLC control

-Strength calculation of silo and supports, including foundation

-Paint

-Quality control

-Local Rules

Success

Cement Silo

Posted on 2. Oct. 2009 - 10:09

Dear Boaty,

for cement silo you only need airfluidisation for take out the cement.

If you need the components we like to work with you together. We are specialist in silo components and have lot of experience.

We recommend the pipe 4" this is correct for filling silo with silotrucks.

I dont know what will be after the silo outlett. Flat gate is correct, rotary only need if you must controll the flow for after process. But i sure is better use a screw conveyor if you must transport the material after horicontal. Than not need rotary valve.

Please contact us we can quote all you need.

Dear Mr Sauer,

The pipe size determines the unloading time of a standard bulk truck with an on board compressor of 15 m3/min (900 m3/hr) at 1.8 bar and a cargo of 30 tons

Assume for the 80 tons silo a horizontal distance of 5 m, a vertical distance of 15 m and 3 bends.

The 4”pipeline will unload in 45 minutes.

The 6”pipeline will unload in 22 minutes.

As the filter is sized in relation to the compressor, the filter area is the same for for both pipelines.

Have a nice day

Cement Level Controls

Dear Boaty

We can help you with the level control on the cement powder as a supplier to multinational cement manufacturers. The probe operates in the air/cement phase ignoring the majority air phase and maximising the filling capability.Further details http://www.hawker-electronics.co.uk/lsmagicap

80 T Cement Silo

Posted on 6. Oct. 2009 - 06:10

Dear Mr. Boaty

We would be more than pleased to support you in your cement silo planning. Our company has more than 40 year experience in the cement industry and specially silo design. As we are designer we are independent of any machine supplier and can therefore design for you the most convenient solution to your needs.

Please notice that silo civil design is depending strongly on the equipment for outlet and inlet. Just to mention the additional loads due to flow channel load case according to new building codes (e.g. DIN1055, Eurocode EC1) causing lot’s of silo damages over the world.

We deal with cement silo issues from the mechanical and civil point of you.

Please have a look at our homepage.

80t Silo

Posted on 12. Oct. 2009 - 04:19

Dear Mr Boatey,

CST would be able to assist you with this and you can send the enquiry to me in our Singapore office - sscott@tanks.com

We have a number of outlets in Australia that would be able to offer a full supply and build package, or we could supply on a DDU basis for self-build.

Our web page is : http://www.tanks.com

I look forward to receiving the details.

Kind regards
