Sealed Spherical Roller Bearings ???

Posted in: , on 12. Aug. 2012 - 18:32

Hi all!!

I am currently exploring the possibility of using sealed spherical roller bearings for 2 Bearing Inclined Vibrating Screens.

Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) with these bearings? It would be a great help if forum members could enlighten me regarding pitfalls (Because I have never seen these bearings being used in Vibrators)

Thanks a lot

You have to provide us with more information!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Help us to help us help you!!!

About your bearing choice,

I would strongly suggest that you throw that idea on the waste heap.

If you are using a greased two row roller bearing now the sealed bearing will fail quickly.

The issue is lubrication and duty cycle and a sealed bearing unless its oil lubricated

is a very bad idea as you will have nothing but problems because the grease in the bearing will

not last and the bearing(s) will heat up and fail.

Your Elliptical Orbit screens will not last very long with sealed bearings.

It is always recommended to use a C4 clearance bearing that is rated for vibratory applications. Disregarding this recommendation can be very detrimental to the life of any other type of bearing.

Rotational speed and temperature play a very significant factor in the design. The bearing manufacturer is your best resource for a recommendation for your application.

Dear Mr.Keshav,

There could be sealed spherical roller bearings. But there are limitations to the bearing diameters. Vibrating screen bearings are having special bearings having clearances between C3 and C4. ( Having suffix as CCJA or ED41A according the manufacturer , SKF or FAG etc., ).

Please discuss with your vibrating screen suppliers and bearings manufacturer and keep us posted.

Have a Great Day.

Regards,
