Container Loading & Unloading

Posted in: , on 6. Dec. 2015 - 00:08

There are many methods employed to handle bulk particulates within ISO containers. All could be improved or, better still, replaced.

Any method so far in existence involves transporting truck laden containers to a place of execution where they are subsequently loaded or unloaded: obviously.

All tasks involve extensive truck manoeuvring and sometimes require uncoupling the tractive unit from the semi-trailer. Such procedures are time consuming and interrupt the smooth throughput.

As more high, and not so high, value products become containerised many producers will ask questions like.

"Why do I have to stop the loading process while an articulated vehicle combination approaches?"

"Why is the trailer tipped?"

"Why am I dismounting containers, already on trailers, and then remounting them...on my own premises?"

Containerisation of bulk cargo will grow mainly from security concerns and also because of better weather protection. Market growth will need improved logistics.

What are the best available methods for loading and unloading bulk in containers? New designs are available to interested parties for further discussion.

Quick Loading Of Fibc Into 20 Foot Containers

Posted on 20. Sep. 2016 - 05:36

Hi John,

Have you found a quick method of loading say 12 FIBC Bulka Bags into a 20 foot container while the container is still on the trailer?

I am looking for a "one shot" container stuffer for FIBC bags from a loading dock but I have been unable to find a solution.

Any useful information or directions are appreciated.

Bulk bags, FIBC's, are meant for forklift handling. Their use in boxes rather defeats the object of bulk containerisation and is quite dangerous in handling situations both stuffing and stripping. Using 12 FIBC's means the bags will be high and so 12 pallets must also be provided. But forktrucks are best and that is why they are so universal.
