Paddle Feeders
The description 'Paddle Feeders' is used to cover a number of different applications, the main purpose useully being to impart a degree of mixing or pre-breaking to the product. Paddles are rather less efficient than screws as a simple feeder, but are sometimes specified as a crude discharge device with the facility to alter the inclination of the blades and replace worn parts more easily than building up worn flights.
A variety of blade shapes may be used, from flat and cresent shape to more exotic 'non-clog' types for dealing with sticky material.
