Fly Ash and Finished Cement References

Posted in: , on 24. Mar. 2010 - 12:46

Hi everybody,

I am interested to visit applications of Pipe Conveyors transporting either fly ash or cement but I have found very few and old information about this on the forum.

I am interested in talking both with end users and suppilers, would you please contact me?

Any information about references will be welcome.

Thanks,

I must express my experience in this technology

Apparatly the primary concern with this technology is , being the finer ash , the particle tend to escape and result to dust emission

Gentleman, Please let me know the followings-

1.Capacity/hour to be conveyed.

2.Distance

Pipe conveyor is not an answer for conveying everything, there are so many other methods to suit A particular requirement.

Capacity is in the range of 100 to 300 t/h

Distance is 400 meters but could be more in other projects.

I know they are not the answer for conveying everything but I would like to know if they have been ever used successfully in this type of application.

I'm very interested also to know if somewhere they have created any problem with these fine particles materials.

Dear Fabio,

Conveying cement or dry flyash, are commodities that can be conveyed efficiently by pneumatic transport.

That this mode of conveying is used quite often has a reason.

Nevertheless, investigating other possibilities is a good thing.

Dear Fabio, A properly designed pipe conveyor will work. Now, you have other options also and that is you can go for AERO BELT where motor power shall be 1/3 of the conventional system and 1/6 th of the pipe conveyor.

Anil, thanks for the reassurance. May I know the base of your statement? Have you ever seen one working or do you have knowledge of where is it located?

I know it will work, that is why I'm asking for it.

Thanks, Fabio.

Yes a properly designed pipe conveyor will work with fly ash and cement, there are many in the world.

PS I have personnally executed one dry fly ash pipe conveyor in Slovakia and a cement pipe conveyor in Chile and in Poland.

FLSmidth has completed around 20 pipe conveyor installations in the last 10 years at fly ash and cement plants. With installations in Slovakia, India, USA and Ireland. Where are you located?

Hi,

We have a number of pipe conveyor applications in cement and fly ash.

However conveying is not the problem but feeding is.

The angle of the belt at the feedpoint is critical the angle of incline is critical and the feed system, (air slide) is also of major concern.

If you would be more specific on the forum we could possably advise the pitfalls.

Thanks
