Tecnologia Meccanica is proud to announce its new laboratory micronizer, the J-20 fluid jet mill. This new spiral jet mill, specifically developed for R&D laboratories, has been designed according to a statistical matrix software implemented, the result is a quantum leap in micronization. Now it is possible to reach particle size distribution of D99<3 micron.

Plus this unit is able to process very low quantities of product (down to 0.2 g) with high product yields. J-20 reduced dimensions allow its use in standard laboratory benches, into laminar flow cabinets or into isolated glove box systems.

The J-20 can be used with hand feeding or in conjunction with dedicated screw feeders, such as our SS20 model with single screw system or the DS20 model with twin screw feeding system. This configuration enables automatic precise product flow control and hence better micronization.

The J-20 technology has been extended with success to all our micronization lines which are able to assure full scale-up possibilities, our equipments can be seen in our testing center located near the city of Bergamo, Italy.

"The J-20 has a very small gas consumption and it can work with just a nitrogen bottle, its process runs at constant temperature (endothermic). It is constituted by a shallow circular grinding chamber in which the material to be pulverized is acted upon by a number of gaseous fluid jets nozzles at supersonic speed. The micronizing effect occurs when the slower incoming particles and the faster particles in the spiral path collide each other, the rotating gas is discharged at the center through a static classifier which enhances the classifying effect."
