Agitator Hopper and Screw Conveyor Combination Provides Consistent Material Supply for Non-Free Flowing Materials in Customer’s Batching Operation
NBE’s proven Agitator Hopper design draws material away from the sides of the surge hopper and directs it through its center discharge eliminating material bridging or rat holing. This results in a consistent and reliable material supply to the screw conveyor. The screw conveyor is designed to handle non-free flowing materials and has controls that receive loss-in-weight information from the Bulk Bag Discharger’s load cells. A variable speed drive is used to change the screw conveyor’s feed rate from bulk to dribble to improve the batch accuracy prior to stopping the screw conveyor once the target batch weight has been discharged.
