Continuous Direct Powder Incorporation into Liquids

Dear All,

I am looking for a technology that can be utilised for inline mixing of powder into liquid.

Technical Solution must satisfy following requirements:

a) Process transformations for powder incorporation must range from dispersion to suspension to dissolution to hydration to emulsification, etc. and that without negative transformations such as aeration, incomplete dispersion or hydration, excessive particle degradation.

b) Technology approaches to enable incorporation of powders of various properties (material types, particle size and shape, density, etc.) at varying levels of solids loading to the liquid stream

c) Metering accuracy (+/- 1% of required powder composition)

d) Startup / ramp-up capability – less than 5 seconds from feed start to steady state composition

e) Different shear requirements for powder mixing – some applications require low shear, some high shear

f) Flexibility to handle different powders, throughput rates, achieve rapid changeover with zero waste, etc. (Combined powder/liquid stream flows up to 50,000 kg/hr)

g) Clean and sanitary design (CIP capability, cGMP compliant, FDA OTC compliant, etc.)

h) Capable of handling difficult powders (difficult to flow, explosive powders, etc.)

Interested parties should seek to deliver advanced technologies in one or more of the following areas in the context of incorporation of powders into a liquid stream:

1.Powders handling and metering

2.Powders incorporation (without aeration)

3.Powders mixing / homogenization / dissolution / hydration / etc.
