Hit The Trail ('Ing Cables)?
Such machinery was quite commonplace in the Saarland & Eastern Europe before the Wall fell down.
There's probably plenty waiting for resale.
As far as I remember they used to provide amenities for an on board compliment of 20-30 souls who were retained for maintenance & operational duties. Single operator radio control seems quite risky for such a size of machine.
Would the proposed radio uncontrolled interference machine have to shut down for blasting set up?
"..fully mobile without any ancillary equipment.." suggests that the machinery will be electrically driven from an external power supply since bowsers will not be available. That's quite a bit of cable to trail. ■
Re: Overburden Stripping & Reclamation
Hi louispanjang, the area is so remote, 450 kilometres to the nearest power grid, that the equipment is all diesel powered and hydraulically driven. The radio control package is not new technology having been in place for single man operated machines of 4,000 to 18,000 tonnes for 2 - 3 decades. The issue they have is that they all feed onto fixed conveyor systems that are pushed by dozer to follow them up. These conveyors are many kilometres long to transport the overburden just 200 metres away. There is no 'Blasting' but the wear and tear on dozers is horrendous due to the silicate materials. This is the reason for the new concept to make the project more viable. Dozer tracks last 1000 hours before they are completely worn out as they are the means used to move the overburden at present.. ■

I couldn't find any relevance in the links provided either. One was broken & another related to container leasing.■

Overburden Stripping & Reclamation
I am looking for a 10,000 tonnes per hour stripping machine and transporting the overburden from the up to 30 metres high excavated face to the 20 metres high reclaimation area at about 120 metres to allow access to the minerals below the overburden. The machine has to be radio controlled by a single operator controller and the system is fully mobile without any ancilliary equipment like dozers of excavators etc. to move the machinery across the face which varies to 30 metres high and varies in widths to 150metres. I have designed a a concept that will work but if there is a system already fully operational and available, it would be worth a look. So far, I have not been able to find any mobile conveyor system at the 10,000 t/h and with a discharge to a reclaimation area behind the excavated face that is totally mobile. 2200 tonnes per hour from Nordberg is the biggest I have seen. ■
