Market for Silica Sand

Posted in: , on 26. Jun. 2009 - 00:13

hi everyone,

I would like some opinions:

I have access to a deposit of silica sand grading average 95% silica and medium fine grained.

I was wondering if people thought that there was a market for his in the uk/ europe and at what market value one could hope to achieve.

I realise this is very open. but any advise would be a a help.

Also it wouldn t be economical to treat sand in order to try increase percentage silica.

deposit has approx 70k tonnes reserves.

thanks in advance for opinions..

I would contact any glas manufacturing

company in your country or nearby and

ask for the purchasing department then

approach thier raw materials purchase

desk.

Its going to be a case of "show me" if they

are interested- meaning access and proof

of ownership of the deposit

Then its proof of assays and core logs.

If its as pure as you say it is Coors Ceramics

might even be willing to chat even though.

I believe you have posted this thread before

have you not?

they are in Golden, Colorado USA

Thank svery much for your reply.

i have psoted this previously but got no reply s.

Material is as pure as i say, prob even better in certains areas of the deposit.

it will be suitable for coloured glass but not clear glass which demands a higher value.

I would like to find the best suited marked for this spec material i.e the one i can achieve the highest end value.

What direction would you think i should go other than glass, paint, ceramics?

Again thanks for your ideas and reply s.

Find a market for it first and then decide if it is worth pursuing as i described earlier.

If you need the silica sand to be transported and moved then we would be happy to design an extremely competitive system to action both material handling and drying.

The key things today is environemntal impact and cost, LF Pumping solve both problems.

The Global Industrial Silica Sand market to grow at a Compounded Annual Growth Rate of four point fifty percent over the period 2012-16. One of the essential factors contributing to this market development is the improved adoption of industrial silica sand for hydraulic fracturing. The International Industrial Silica Sand sector has also been witnessing the increasing focus toward R and D activities. However, growing use of recycled silica sand could pose a challenge to the growth of this market.
