Shiploading of Processed Fluorspar

Posted in: , on 26. Mar. 2015 - 17:58

Hello all,

I have a request to consider loading of processed fluorspar that apparently will look like wet snow.

We will eventually get some to look at and test, but in the interim I have been asked to see if anyone else loads similar fluorspar into a ships hold, and what methods are used, especially to trim the holds.

The load rate is likely around 500 t/h.

Any comments and inputs welcomed

Vertical Chute Design

Hi Steve

Interesting problem to solve

I think our controlled flow chute may be a potential solution as it would provide an even, wide flow with controlled speed minimising stationary material.

See www.graviload.com

Could also be helped by low friction surfaces / material depending on the abrasiveness

Do you have any physical material properties that we could test in DEM ??
