I want o set a trommel sreen cut size at the discharge end of a wet drum scrubber. What is the maximum particle size that can be pumped from a trommel underscreen at 40% solids content?

How big is the pump?

What is the material?

Forty per cent volume or mass?

Type in "Warman Slurry Pumping Handbook" into your search engine. There are multiple sources where you can download this document from. You should find the information within very useful.

This is for a pilot plant application, so the pump throughput is very small, 7.36 m3/h. I'm concerned about the settlement of coarse particles (for example if I choose a 25 mm opening in the trommel screen) due to the very low throughput in pipe after the pump.

The material is laterite slurry (D80 of 2.5 mm) at 30 to 40 weight% solids, and I want to avoid discarding the coarser particles (-25 mm to +2.5 mm) through choosing a smaller aperture in the trommel as much as possible.
