Primary Crusher Dust Enclosure

This may help or not, but depending on what you want to achieve this can be an extremely complex issue as there are so many competing operations around a primary crusher that make good enclosure difficult.

I have seen an operation where the application of microfog without enclosure was reasonably effective but keeping the system going was intense.

I have designed an enclosure, that was not entirely satisfactory, for a large gyratory with double dump pocket, access doors for crane and breaker, included control room, and a very large and costly dust extraction system. The amount of dust generated was much less than a similar unit without the enclosure but there is still dust.

Consider air flow modelling, how you will contain dust if you have to have regular vehicle access for feed dumping (doors, curtains etc.), crusher maintenance access and component removal, rockbreaker access, if there is a control room where to locate and how to keep windows clean, what lighting do you need, and many other issues.

There are many crushers with part or full enclosures around, maybe ask some of the crusher suppliers for an introduction to any of their sites for real feedback.

Cheers Steve
