Ash Pozolite

Hi vipindave,

In South Africa we rework old ash dumps from coal fired power stations. The main issue is grading the ash to provide a reasonable consistent product for the market. Plaster render does not require much cement - if any. Your ash is a natural pozolite, so do some tests on it. You may only need 1:10 of cement or less.

We process the ash into blocks for building construction. This may require the addition of some coarse aggregate, but you save on cement (maybe you could do with from 1:4 to 1:6). Lab testing will help you design the optimum mix.
