Born 1946 in Malaysia, educated in Malaysia , Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 1968 from the Technical College Kuala Lumpur. Previously employed in a company dealing with the design , supply and installation of material handling systems for Tin mines, cement plants and flour mills.
