A Tape Measure Works Nice

just measure the depth of actual feed material at the discharge end of the vibrating screen length...any length but, you are most likely looking for laser beam or other modern methods...

i am not aware of any that work on vibrating screens...other members might tho....

Re: Sensor To Measure The Screen Bed Thickness

I am not aware of any such instrument, but I would like to offer a few comments.

Screens never feed evenly. There is always some bias to one side on the other.

Depending on the screen type, you can monitor the wear across the deck over time. In the case of modular polyurethane screen panels, for example, you need only pick the same point on each panel and measure that over time. From this, you could perhaps infer some bed depth information.

If you take a high speed film of the material flowing across a vibrating screen in action, it will open your eyes as to the surprisingly complex motion of the ore bed. That might make you re-think your ideas of bed depth.

Just a few thoughts.

Check the Level control.... thread for laser sensing

Might give some leads

You can use KEYENCE brand LK 2000 series sensor , you can measure 0.01 mm accuracy

Thanks
