Siwertell Type D Ship-unloader is a mechanical system, coupled with four Fluxo Type E pumps for pipe transport of cement.

General Data:

Vertical and horizontal screw conveyors are electrically driven

Inlet device, Pendulum, Luffing, Tilting and Slewing operations are hydraulically driven

Rated capacity 800 tph

Peak Capacity 950 tph

12.5 ton auxiliary hoist

Cat 3512/Generator

Cat 3408/Generator

1600 cfm compressors x 6 (deck mounted) air supply for pumps of various ages 1 – 1995, 2 – 1999, 3 – 1995, 4 – 1995, 5 – 1995, 6 – 2005.

Fluxo Type E pump x 4 transporting product initially via 10 inch pipeline and transitioning to 12 inch pipeline for delivery. Discharge distance is currently 630 ft horizontal and 180 ft vertical length.

General operation:

Cement is mechanically removed from ship’s hold to a barge mounted on deck hopper; Fluxo pumps mounted below the hopper receive product individually, and fill and discharge automatically; on board transport pipelines are 10 inch and transition to 12 inches shore side for delivery to the receiver. Discharge rate of 300 short tons through the vessel has been achieved which includes shifting of the vessel and hold cleaning.

Spare Parts:

The current spare parts include the following:

•One complete set of vertical screw sections

•Vertical screw drive motor and gear reducer

•Horizontal screw drive motor and gear box

•Hydraulic system drive motor and pump

•Slewing hydraulic motor and gear box

•One spare cylinder each for Tilt, Pendulum and Luffing

General Condition:

The unloader is fully functional and has been maintained to provide cement unloading on a moment’s notice. Weekly and monthly inspections and maintenance are performed to ensure all equipment remains operational. The barge will require dry-docking and hull maintenance before transfer via ocean. Major maintenance is expected for compartments 1-3.
