How Much Better the CEMA 6th Edition?

Posted in: , on 2. Jun. 2005 - 09:51

Dear Matt,

Your thread does not allow a response to your question.

Hopefully, you have studied this book and found that there are many errors that will be caught and rectified in a second printing.

CEMA has a meeting planned for the end of June to table responses to the book. If you have an interest to respond, you can put forward you interest and send it to CEMA or I would be happy to act as your emissary. CDI is a member. We will attend. We plan to offer many comments and note some errors.

I am interested in your comments on chapter 6. Would you use this method without verifiable results? We note the method is vague and mysterious.

CDI offers many of the new methods cited in the CEMA 6th Edition in our conveyor design software program BELTSTAT V8.0. We offer it for interest. We do not know how to support Chapter 6. Hopefully, this will be clarified at the CEMA meeting.

The release of BELTSTAT V8.0 will include horizontal curve engineering features.
