Granite comes in at a 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale, meaning it is relatively hard, and it needs to be crushed into granite products of different particle sizes by using granite crushing machines. The configuration of the granite crushing line is determined based on the specifications and the use of the granite rock, the desired output, and the model and production capacity of the crushers.

There are so many granite crushers on the market, how to choose?

First of all, let's take a look at the several crushers sold in the market.

Jaw crusher

The jaw crusher, used for primary crushing, can crush large rocks with a compressive strength not exceeding 320MPa to a size of 100mm~300mm.

Impact crusher

The impact crusher can process rocks with a compressive strength of 700mm or less and a compressive strength of up to 350MPa. The crushing ratio is large, and the crushed stones are cubic particles.

The impact crusher is generally for the secondary crushing. For processing rocks with smaller particle sizes, it can be used for the primary crushing.

Cone Crusher

A Cone Crusher is a compression type of machine that reduces material by squeezing or compressing the feed material between a moving piece of steel and a stationary piece of steel. It has the characteristics of reliable structure, high reduction efficiency, convenient adjustment, and economical use.

Cone crusher, like impact crusher, can be used for secondary crushing as well as primary crushing for materials with smaller particle sizes. However, when used for secondary crushing, the required feed size of the cone crusher is smaller than that of the impact crusher.

Sand making machine

The sand making machine is suitable for the crushing and shaping soft, medium-hard and extremely hard rocks. It is generally used as the last process of the crushing and sand-making production line.

In addition to the main crushing equipment, some auxiliary equipment such as vibrating screens, feeders and conveyors are also required to make the crushing plant work efficiently.

Due to the high hardness, the configuration of granite crushing production line generally needs to go through three stages, namely primary crushing of jaw crusher, secondary crushing of impact crusher or cone crusher, and sand making and shaping of sand maker. The process is roughly as follows:

Primary crushing

Large pieces of granite are transported from the silo to the vibrating feeder for even feeding, and then fed to the jaw crusher for the primary crushing.

Secondary crushing

The coarsely crushed granite rocks are screened by the vibrating screen, sent to the impact crusher or cone crusher by the belt conveyor for the secondary crushing.

Case reference

The granite crushing production line with an hourly output of 600~700t can be configured as follows according to the configuration plan described above.

Silo - vibrating feeder GZD15006000 - jaw crusher PE12001500 - cone crusher HPC400 (2 units) - circular vibrating screen 3YZS2160 (2 units) - sand making machine 5X1145 (2 units). Materials are transported among machines through conveyor belts. The equipment used in this production line matches its desired output.

Note: When the feeding particle size of granite stones is less than or equal to 320 mm, feed them directly into the cone crusher for secondary crushing without primary crushing.
