Hello

This is Charan from India

I feel its greatfull to have a forum like this to address all screen and feeder problems.

By seeing all the feedbacks for the problems i am just inspired with a confidence to put my problem here

the problem here is bolts of the unbalanced motors are sheared and and the motor mounting plate is also getting cracked (at welded area)what could be the reason.

help in this regard ia appreciable

Dear Mr Charan,

Firstly, examine the cracks, whether they show a surface crack-pattern, indicating a violent failure or a fatique failure.

I expect the last.

Then recalculate the alternating forces on the mounting and the mounting bolts and have a close look at the stifness of the whole installation.

The maximum and minimum stresses are then used to assess the fatique strength of the calculated parts.

Also check the fatique strength of the applied weld configurations (Notch group)

Use manufacturers data.

The calculation results will indicate the corrective path to follow.

best regards

Teus

Can you send a pic of the cracked area.......it would be most helpful to diagnose the problem.

ANYTHING like this pic of a feeder box with an INVICTA motor on it?

Thanks teus & george for spantaneous reply

I will send the photogragh in next two theree days because i need to collect it from my client.

i am mounting the motors at 30 degrees to the center point(C of G) of the trough.

I have a doubt whether C of G to be calculated only to the trough (or) trough including Motors

(right now i included the motors also is this is creating any unbalance in resulting forces- its my doubt)

can you please clear this!

yours

charan

Charan

Bolts should not be sheared - check your surface before mounting the motors, check the bolts pretension you can always machine a small step - do you have a GA or installation dwg?
