Ask The Manufacturers

Posted on 18. Jul. 2013 - 06:33

This question could have been beneficially addressed to the leading manufacturers who, amongst other topics, might need to know the tonnage, particle spectrum and even the material proposed. If they are good salesmen they will quote the important parameters automatically. Most of them can give you a price over the phone into the bargain.

Some Dewatering Efficiency Comments

Posted on 23. Jul. 2013 - 04:41

1. a calculation on width and length of screen is needed by the VSMA rules, to achieve the machine screening & dewatering efficiency by the mathematic calculations.

2. typically dewatering is best achieved on a horizontal/flat screen design but,

3. more and more some dewatering screens can be at a 5-8 deg uphill INCLINE....to maximize efficiency

4. typically for dewatering, a polyurethane deck, typically squares are used to maximize deck life as part of overall cost efficiency

5. if using wirecloth, typically a Type 304 stainless steel is the most efficient pick, again for extending life of the wirecloth (no pitting of wires)

6. the total USGPM...is critical to be calculated, to obtain proper screening and dewatering efficiencies

7. the total number of spray bars is critical to be calculated per deck and more importantly the USGPM per spray nozzle at the nozzle

that is it for now......enjoy.

Many thanks for your message.

A dewatering screens efficiency will not be measured the same as a normal aggregate screen but will be measured on amount of moisture content in the material after it has gone over a dewatering screen.

To be able to quote you a suitable dewatering screen we would require the following information:-

- Type of Material (Coal, Sand, Iron Ore Etc)

- TPH Solids

- Amount of Water/Slurry in Feed

- Feed Analysis of Material (or average particle size)

From this we could submit our offer. A typical dewatering screen would be looking to achieve 8-15% moisture in material and a typical amount of water in the feed would be around 50%.

Please let me know if you need anything else from us.
