Powder Technology Incorporated Announces an Online Newsletter for Powder, Bulk and Test Dust Industry
Burnsville, MN - November 23, 2004
Some companies need microscopically small powdered materials, precisely sized to the nearest hundredth of a micron from polyesters to abrasives. Some companies need powders to be precisely blended with other powders. And some companies need test contaminants in very specific sizes.
For all of these companies, across many industries, Powder Technology Incorporated (PTI) now has a bi-monthly newsletter discussing industry news and PTI announcements along with the odd brainteaser just in case the technology news is not challenging enough.
The first issue, which has been published on the PTI Website, covers the way PTI has handled its very rapid growth to address the needs of an approximately $50 billion materials processing market. Materials that may be processed include: abrasives, carbon, ceramics, chemicals and plastics/resins/coatings. PTI is broadening its spectrum of processing capabilities to serve clients from all of those industries.
Fortunately, PTI foresaw its growth needs by taking large enough, modularly configured space and planning how the growth would be achieved without needing to reorganize the workflow. As machines and capabilities are added, they are simply plugged into the plant like so many building blocks. PTI expects to fill the space during 2004.
At the same time, PTI has invested in another custom processing company, which handles all liquid particulate materials processing using spray drying, prilling, grinding, coating, and micro-encapsulation technologies.
The PTI newsletter is written by company founder, Mike Spillane, who had to retire from the company in order to find the time. “Even though Mike has retired he would like to slowly fade into the sunset writing about his passion of powder processing. If you have any story suggestions or industry news you would like to hear about please contact me and I will be happy to pass the information to Mike,” says Jeff Friederichs, Sales Manager for PTI.
