China opts for resource–conserving and energy efficient processes

Chinese chemical company Shihlien China Holding Co. Ltd recently awarded Haver & Boecker an order for four ROTO-PACKER type packing machines with accessories.

The packing machines will be part of a chemical industrial park that is currently under construction, and is the result of an investment of several hundred million US dollars. They will be used for packing (sodium carbonate) and ammonium chloride. While the white sodium carbonate crystal powder is used mainly in the chemical industry for glass manufacturing, metallurgy, paper and textile industries, the most important use of ammonium chloride is as an electrolyte in dry batteries.

In addition to the order volume, also notable is that Shilhlien China Holding Co., which was founded by a Taiwan glass group and foreign investors, places much emphasis on cleanliness, quality, and sustainable environmental protection. For this reason, the packing machines will be outfitted with ultrasonic sealing units for sealing the filled bags shut, and thus will eliminate contamination of the work and transport areas. Through these efforts, Shilhlien China Holding wants to set new standards for energy and resource-saving products and processes, as well as worker-friendly work conditions in China.
