Dust Supression in Chute

Posted in: , on 30. Jun. 2009 - 02:23

I am currently working on a coal conveying project and i was wondering what your thoughts were on the position of a spray nozzle within a transfer chute, that would give the best dust suppression results. The coal is being feed into a power station and the chutes and soft flow spoon chutes.

The best solution is dust suppresion system is spraying a mixture water + surfactant. You should contact RAM Environnement which is a french company which works all over the world for such applications (with Arcelor Mittal, Metso Minerals, Sandvik, Areva, Lafarge etc ...)

An Open And Shut Case?

The spraybar goes just downstream of the departure point from the chute. Anywhere else and dust can be generated downstream and escape from the skirted length, if its open.

Chutes are generally fitted with HOODS which, as the name should imply, are there to cover something..e.g. dust?
