Thanks for the free conveyor calculation spreadsheet. The spreadsheet is handy but limited to specific applications and belt products.

It seems to be written for industrical applications. In my line of business (process plant) it soon runs into uncharted territory and published lots of red ink - ie outside range of application.

Some of the guidelines on drive pulley sizes and idler spacing also run into credibility issues.

Has anyone published a simple free conveyor calculation sheet, or do I have to write my own from scratch?

The drive calculations are fairly straight forward when using CEMA data. In addition to that I'd like to see

1 - some rule of thumb guidance on idler spacing - CEMA is fine

2 - some return idler spacing recommendation

3 - pulley size recommendation is helpful

4 - guidance on convex and concave belt radii would be useful

I would be a fool to use this information to design and construct a conveyor system, but indicative preliminary data can be useful for initial estimating and skech plan stage. ■
