The Victam Foundation
The Victam Foundation dates back from 1964. Originally founded to organise an exhibition for suppliers to the animal feed and related industries. This became the famous international Victam fair, which is held every three years in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Later the foundation widened its scope of activities. Its present statuary rules emphasise the role to promote the international feed industry in general and bringing together feed producers, scientists and suppliers to the feed industry. The activities can be in various forms, like the organisation of exhibitions, seminars, conferences and study tours, publications, students exchange, support of research projects and institutes, contacts with and support of feed millers associations. Victam is active in Europe, Asia and Africa.
The organisation
The activities are co-ordinated and managed by a daughter company, Victam International, located in Nijkerk, The Netherlands. This small efficient firm has at its disposal a vast data bank with over a 17 000 addresses worldwide of feed and feed related organisations and persons, working for the feed industry.
The Victam Board consists of members who play an active role in the international feed industry. The board and management can always call for assistance to the Technical Advisory Committee. This international committee consists of scientists and experts from the producers of ingredients and equipment for the feed industry. No decision of any importance is taken without consulting this committee.
To remain informed with the latest developments Victam has appointed consultants in the major European and Asian countries, who are prominent personalities from the feed industry.
