MECO custom shaft seals are a long-lived, low-maintenance alternative to packing glands on slow-turning bulk processing equipment. Seal design & materials are carefully chosen to suit the size, temperature, pressure, speed, & chemistry of each application. Fully-split seals are available for installation without removing bearing or drive. MECO seals protect shafts from abrasion damage in powder processes in many industries & are designed to accommodate 6mm of diametric shaft runout and thermal shaft growth in high-temperature process machinery. MECO seals offer complete containment of VOCs as well as solids & can reduce dryer cycle time by 50% by effectively sealing the vacuum.
Products include three lines of standard hanger bearings, mechanical shaft seals, wood bearings, several roll end bearing profiles, and spherical bearings. Custom wood plane bearings are manufactured for a wide variety of shaft sizes and applications.
MECO, the original high-runout seal for dry powder process equipment, offers CEMA standard & custom-engineered seals to retrofit existing machinery. FDA materials available.
