The Magaldi group takes its roots in the inventive capacity of the Magaldi family, who since the XIX century, was distinguished for their ability in innovation.
Following this family course and perseverance, Paolo Magaldi started his industrial activity back in 1929, manufacturing a unique leather transmission belt, the Magaldi Supercinghia, patented earlier in 1900.
The great achievements of the Supercinghia will be repeated many times in future, due to Magaldi strong capacity of designing, engineering, manufacturing and providing dependable and innovative solutions in the material handling, dry bottom ash extraction and cooling technologies for many business worldwide as Power, Foundry, Cement, Automotive, Steel, Glass, etc..
MAGALDI GROUP is divided into four separate divisions, each specializing in a distinct application area, who pride themselves on great expertise and know-how:
- Magaldi Industrie S.r.l manufactures special conveyors for hot, heavy and abrasive material, and is responsible for After Sales and manufacturing activities for the Group.
- Magaldi Ricerche e Brevetti S.r.l engineers & supplies Material Handling equipment for raw materials and ash storage silos. Its R&D department develops new products and technologies for the entire Group.
- RRS S.r.l engineers and supplies electric and automation systems. In addition, it operates industrial plants under BOT contracts - Build Operate and Transfer - to Power and Chemical industries.
- Magaldi Power S.p.A. implements contracts for bottom ash handling systems for PC Boilers and CFB Boilers on a turn-key basis.
Furthermore, MAGALDI GROUP has three foreign “branches”:
- Magaldi Power Pty Ltd is a branch of Magaldi Power SpA - which implements in Australia bottom ash handling systems for PC Boilers and CFB Boilers on turn-key basis.
- Magaldi Power GmbH is the German branch of Magaldi Group – which supports the sales activities in Germany.
- Magaldi Power Beijing RO is the Magaldi Power`s Representative Office in Beijing - which supports the sales activities In China.
The Group is cooperating with qualified Partners to enable our presence on a broad geographic area. It has been set up an international network, based on the following main agreements:
- License agreement with Kawasaki Heavy Industries, for the Magaldi technologies distribution and marketing in Japan.
- License agreement with Diamond Power ( Babcock & Wilcox group ), for the distribution and marketing of the MAC systems ( Magaldi Ash Cooler ) in the USA.
- License agreement with DC Industrial Plant Services Private Limited ( DCIPS ), for the distribution and marketing of the MAC systems (Magaldi Ash Cooler) in West Bengal, India

- MAC® (Magaldi Ash Cooler)
The patented MAC (Magaldi Ash Cooler) Dry Bottom Ash System, is a unique system for dry extraction, cooling and handling of bottom ash from pulverized coal-fired boilers.
With almost a hundred of systems installed worldwide, the MAC Dry Bottom Ash system is the world`s leading dry bottom ash handling system for utility boilers.
The success of the MAC system can be attributed to the following benefits over traditional wet bottom ash system:
• Eliminates water usage in cooling and conveying bottom ash
• Reduces carbon content in bottom ash
• Captures heat energy from ash and returns to boiler
• Provides for potential sale of dry, low carbon ash
• Reduces operational and maintenance costs compared to conventional wet systems

- FLUIMAC®
The patented FLUIMAC system is an innovative system for the dry handling of bed ash from Circulating Fluidized Boilers ( CFB ). The FLUIMAC system is characterized by low operation & maintenance requirements, long life of the equipment & parts, no usage of water in the ash processing at all. In addition, with the FLUIMAC system it is possible to increase the boiler efficiency by heat recovery from the ash.
- MRS® ( Magaldi Mills Reject System )
The MAGALDI MRS® is a patented steel belt conveying system designed to handle in a dry way mill rejects from the coal mills to a storage silo based upon the well proven dependable MAGALDI Superbelt. The MRS is the first, fully dependable, mechanical mill rejects conveying system.
No more water is required, avoiding all environmental problems associated with a wet system.
- MAR® (Magaldi Ash Recycling)
In order to reduce the environmental impact and to make ash usable in cement or concrete, MAGALDI has developed and patented a system able to extract, cool and recycle into the combustion chamber, the ash coming from solid fuel fired boilers. This new system combines the MAC® (Magaldi Ash Cooler) System and its development, called MAR® (Magaldi Ash Recycling) System, resulting in an integrated MAC® + MAR® System.
The MAC System allows to extract, convey and cool the bottom ash of a solid fuel fired boiler in a completely “dry” way, while the MAR® System recycles into the combustion chamber the dry bottom ash mixed with high unburned content fly ash.
- SUPERBELT®
Dependable handling of bulk materials is important to ensure the highest productivity in many industries.
It is difficult for traditional conveyors to withstand the high temperature, the heavy weight, the abrasiveness or the sharp edges of diverse materials. Conventional conveyors often cause production losses due to unforeseen failures, require excessive maintenance and are noisy and dusty.

- MCC® ( Magaldi Casting Cooler )
Combining both experiences in Power and Foundry industries, Magaldi developed the MCC – Magaldi Casting Cooler.
The MCC is a Magaldi Superbelt conveyor with the addition of a tunnel for forced air cooling of the castings during transportation.
Belt speed and cooling air flow are PLC controlled, in order to optimise cooling time and conveying rates.
Belt speed is controlled by linking the signal of the molding line production rate to the frequency converter that controls the speed of the belt by means of an encoder located positioned on the tail shaft.
- ECOMAG®/ECOBELT®
The Magaldi Ecobelt Conveyor is based on the well known technology of the Magaldi Superbelt, a steel belt conveyor with hundreds of worldwide references.
The Magaldi Ecomag/Ecobelt basically consists of a Magaldi Superbelt contained in a steel casing. Their exclusive features include:
Low wear and a long life, because there is no relative movement between the belt and the material transported on it.
High dependability, because there is no risk of sudden, unexpected failure.
Easy maintenance, since all rollers’ bearings are located outside of the casing.
