Bulk flow measurement
The bulk flow gauge LB 442 is used for all kind of bulk material and various conveying systems. Beside on conveying belts, it can also be installed on screw conveyors, bucket conveyors, plate conveyors, and chain conveyors. The installation is possible also on existing conveying systems. No modification to the conveyors is necessary.
The contactless system delivers precise and reliable results even under tough conditions.
The system can be combined with a moisture measurement in order to get the conveyed dry mass.
The mass flow measurement requires information about the speed of the product. This signal can be received from a tachometer for a belt or from the motor or the gear for other conveying systems.
A measurement on free falling products is also possible. In this case, the speed is determined by the distance between the dropping point and measuring point and the air resistance.
For precise measurements, a speed measurement of the product based on the electrostatic principle has to be used.
The combination of radiometric measurement and electrostatic speed measurement is also used successfully in pneumatic conveying systems.
Moisture measurement
Wherever the moisture of bulk material has to be measured, the microwave based system LB 456 can be used. It measures precisely the water content of bulk material on belts or in chutes.
It is also used for measure carbon in fly ash on power stations.
For measurement in bunkers the system LB 350 can be used. The benefit is the large volume which is detected by the measurement. It is especially used in the steel industry for measuring the moisture of coke and sinter or in the concrete and glass industry for measuring the moisture of sand.

Durchsatz messen
Das radiometrische Messsystem LB 442 zur Bestimmung von Durchsatz und Massenstrom wird an den verschiedensten Schüttgütern eingesetzt. Es eignet sich für eine Vielzahl von Fördersystemen, neben der Messung am Förderband, wird das System auch an Förderschnecken, Trogkettenförderer, Stahlplattenbänder und Becherwerke verwendet. Das Gerät kann direkt an bestehenden Fördersystemen installiert werden, wobei kein Umbau der Anlage erforderlich ist. Das berührungslose System liefert präzise und zuverlässige Ergebnisse auch unter schwierigsten Messbedingungen. Das LB 442 kann mit einer Feuchtemessung kombiniert werden, um die Trockenmasse zu bestimmen.
Bei der Massenstrommessung sind Informationen über die Materialgeschwindigkeit erforderlich. Dieses Signal kann bei einem Förderband mittels eines Tachometers oder bei anderen Fördersystemen durch Motor bzw. Getriebe erhalten werden.
Auch eine Messung am Freifall-Schacht ist möglich. In diesem Fall wird die Geschwindigkeit durch Heranziehen von Luftwiderstand und Strecke (Fallpunkt – Messstelle) ermittelt. Für äußerst präzise Messergebnisse wird häufig eine Geschwindigkeitsmessung nach dem elektrostatischen Prinzip eingesetzt.
Die Kombination von Radiometrie und elektrostatischer Geschwindigkeitsmessung hat sich auch bei der Durchsatzmessung an pneumatischen Fördersystemen bewährt.
Materialfeuchte überwachen
Das Mikrowellen-basierte Messsystem LB 456 wird überall dort eingesetzt, wo die Materialfeuchte von Schüttgütern von Bedeutung ist. Es misst genau und zuverlässig den Wassergehalt von Schüttgütern an Förderbändern oder in Freifall-Schächten.
Eine Feuchtebestimmung an Behältern hingegen ermöglicht das Messsystem LB 350. Diese Behältersonde hat den Vorteil, dass mit ihr ein sehr großes Materialvolumen erfasst werden kann. LB 350 wird hauptsächlich in der Stahlindustrie eingesetzt, um die Feuchte von Koks oder Sinter zu bestimmen. Eine weitere Applikation ist die Feuchtemessung an Sand in der Zement- und Glasindustrie.
