The machines are available in a number of different designs and are tailored in our factory to the specific requirements of each customer. They are also available in a variety of different sizes, starting with units for the laboratory and product development department and ranging up to high-performance designs destined for mass production.
Process technology integrated into isolators and/or containment systems protect operating personnel from toxic products or highly active substances, and are required above all in the pharmaceutical industry. The isolators manufactured by Hosokawa Alpine are individually customised to match the integrated processing system and all processing steps.
Many customers employ the 200 LS-N air jet sieve manufactured by Hosokawa Alpine for purposes of quality control. Its robust design and simple handling make the air jet sieve ideally suitable not only for the laboratory, but also for random sampling in a production environment. Particle design & nanotechnology
As a result of extensive research and development, Hosokawa has developed a new nanotechnology product portfolio featuring the latest product advances. The aim of Hosokawa thereby is to develop particle modification technologies which will increase the value of customers` products by improving and adding functionality.
Current technologies available for the manufacture of functional nanopowders are dispersion, mixing (normal, ordered or precision), coating, fusion, reactions ( solid-solid surface ), Mechano Chemical Bonding ( MCB ), shape control, agglomeration, nanogrinding, drying from nanoslurries and the measurement techniques employed in evaluating these materials.
These technologies not only produce added-value materials, but can also lead to process improvements by reducing process steps and energy costs.

Testing centre
Our testing centre was designed for conducting customer trials with the aim of laying out systems and of determining the process-technological guaranteed values. Not only on a production scale, but also on a laboratory or pilot-plant scale. The centre is equipped with over 60 machines and complete systems. A highly modern laboratory annexed to the testing centre is available to determine the properties and particle size, etc., of the tested products.
Particle size analysis is one of the most important testing methods for every manufacturer of powdery materials. As a result, HOSOKAWA ALPINE`s application testing centre in Augsburg includes a testing laboratory which is equipped with state-of-the-art measuring, testing and analysis apparatus.
