Department of Mechanical Engineering - Industrial Mechanical Plants Section.

The main R&D activities are carried out in industrial and special plants, industrial automation and instrumentation, particularly in design and process simulation of bulk solids handling plants, thermal plants for electrical and thermal energy production, refrigerating and conditioning plants, water distribution, compressed air, suction of flue gases and polluting gases, treatment of cool and hot gases to reduce environmental impact.

Department laboratory is equipped both for didactic and scientific activities.
The experimental activity consists in testing industrial plants and devices for technical and economical plant optimisation, automation and just in time control of production processes.
